Stage 1 loadshedding shall be applied every single day this week till Friday, whereas Stage 2 shall be applied nightly till Friday, Eskom mentioned on Tuesday night.
Stage 1 will begin at 05:00 and proceed till 16:00, after which Stage 2 will begin and proceed till the following morning.
“The rise in loadshedding is principally because of the must protect emergency technology reserves, the delay in returning 4 producing items to service, whereas many working items are working at diminished capability resulting from technical faults,” Eskom mentioned.
Two items at Camden and one unit every at Kendal and Matimba have been delayed in returning to service.
At present 3 945MW are out on deliberate upkeep, with 14 499MW are unavailable resulting from breakdowns.
