Zambia, Vedanta Assets agree to hunt out-of-court settlement


Zambia has agreed with Vedanta Assets Restricted to pause hearings on their dispute over Konkola Copper Mines for six months and search an “amicable settlement”, State mining funding agency ZCCM-IH stated on Tuesday.

Zambia in Might 2019 handed management of KCM to a State-appointed provisional liquidator, triggering a protracted authorized battle with proprietor Vedanta. Zambia’s mines minister stated in July that he had informed ZCCM-IH to hunt an out-of-court settlement.
